Comments so far:
July 21, 2006 Judy Stevens - We need a Department of Peace to deal with foreign nations and stop our love of unending war for profit and Empire. It destroyed Russia and Rome. It is not good policy for any society. Peace and prosperity.

September 10, 2005 Anonymous - Dennis has an inner light that shines, his smile lights up a room and he has "been there"-- rising up from homelessness and poverty to be the loving leader that he is now.. this is a brave man who goes where others fear to tread, small in stature but a giant in character! This is the leader we need, and we need his Dept of Peace (call in on 9/14/05 to Congress to support the Dept of Peace). please..

December 5, 2004 Shirley Howland - Dennis Kucinich's "advocacy of a Department of Peace seeks not only to make nonviolence an organizing principle in our society, but to make war archaic. His is a powerful, ethical voice for nuclear disarmament, preservation of the ABM treaty, banning weapons in outer space, and a halt to the development of a 'Star Wars' - type missile defense technology."
This advocacy, as written in his description for the Secretary of Peace, http:// www.backbonecampaign.org/cabinet/nominee.cfm?ID=6, shows that he has the knowledge and ability to bring Peace to this world.
He would assert control over the Pentagon and its insane policies. It will take a real fighter to cut back the Pentagon and its many tentacles, but that's where Peace begins. Dennis Kucinich is the man who can do it!

October 29, 2004 Eric Angell - If it is Dennis Kucinich, maybe, we will finally have an independent audit requirement at the DOD... imagine that.

October 22, 2004 Bill Moyer - I think the nominee, unlike Donald Rumsfeld, should have some military backround. Certainly, Congressman Kucinich is extremly knowledgable in military budget matters, but wouldn't it be wise to have a nominee who is both familiar with military history, strategy, and culture?

October 18, 2004 Anonymous - Add to the stated background credentials the fact that Dennis wants to cut the fat out of the DOD budget and use it for Peace, Education, Healthcare, etc.
