	Good News for Backbone Is Good News for YOU!
			12/12/2009 Backbone Campaign has received a $50,000 grant from the Nathan Cummings Foundation to co-produce 7 regional Artful Activism Summits in 2010. (YEAH! - Thanks NCF!) We now will be able to bring artists and trainers to help YOUR local campaigns. These festive summits will result in spectacle tools like giant puppets, banners and props that will remain with the lucky seven host communities/organizations/campuses in order to support their ongoing work and eventual victory! *IMPORTANT* IF you would like to apply to host an Artful Activism Summit in your area, PLEASE contact our office ASAP. 	Vashon GreenMap Release Party This Saturday Dec. 12
			12/08/2009 WHEN: Saturday Dec. 12th, from 3:00-5:00 WHERE: Vashon's Village Green WHY:The Vashon Greenmap edition #1 is IN PRINT, and we're ready to celebrate! Come dance to local music and see Where's Green, at the Vashon Greenmap Community Release Celebration! Arrive early to join a Mini-Procession with Backbone's Earth Ball, Windmills, and Snowflake. Then feast your eyes on the Electric Vehicle Showcase, and pick up your very own Vashon Greenmap - the one and only community-created map! This party is for YOU, the Vashon community, who are the real creators, shapers, and users of this community document, that celebrates the Natural, Cultural, and Green Living resources here on Vashon. The Island is on fire with dozens of projects and initiatives, from getting Vashon and Washington State off coal power, to empowering Vashonites to grow more of our own food, to building our own electric cars, and this party shows you WHERE the action is and HOW you can get involved!
